Posie Kalin
Posie Kalin is a professional artist and arts educator living in Spokane with her husband Avalon Kalin and two daughters. Her work covers a broad spectrum of art mediums including video, music, photography, installation, painting, sculpture and performance. Kalin's work involves collaboration, dramaturgy, manifestation, and an investigation in to how objects and form can be weighted with a feminist perspective while proposing alternative realities and ways of being. She engages esoteric practices, ritual, visual divination and abstract poetics as strategies and directives for production. Kalin has exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally including Spokane, Yakima, Portland, LA, Las Vegas, Chicago, NYC, Bulgaria and Australia. She currently teaches painting at EWU and youth media art labs at Songbird Music & Art Studio on the S. Hill.
